On 11 July 2019 a visitor from Croatia asked few questions about Chinese cars, and assuming that he want to purchase a car database, I answered his questions. Usually do not take more than 15 minutes to convince customers to purchase or not purchase a database, but he kept asking questions for more than 90 minutes and I realized that he was NOT going to buy anything, was an idiot chatting non-sense and wasting my time from serving REAL customers!
Next day, someone with different visitor # but same Croatia reported an error that was actually correct, I asked if is SAME person who asked yesterday about Chinese cars, he said yes. His browser have cookies disabled, thus every time he appear with new/different visitor # and due to this reason I do not know if is him and I need to answer each chat to not miss a potential customer. A month earlier I got a couple of similar messages from Croatia that may have been SAME person (having over 5000 chats per year, is difficult to find HIS chats without remembering an unique keyword to search, Zendesk Chat do not have option to filter chat logs by country to narrow search, and see if IP matches).
Update: I believe that SAME person is responsible for few dozens stupid messages received over last 4 years (at least). Including 29 November 2015, when for an interval of 10 hours, someone sent me every 30 min – 1 hour (possible) quotes copy-pasted from various car websites, disturbing me from possible other activities.
Website chat widget is usually used by customers who visit website for 1st time and need a quick reply without disclosing their contact info, so I need to answer quickly before they buy from a competitor. After initial conversation, if we decide to talk further, they disclose contact info and we move conversation over email or Skype.
I don’t stay non-stop in front of computer, and such messages make me going to computer, or stop in middle of road to pull phone out of pocket, for NO REASON.
Dear idiot from Croatia, If you are not a customer and want only a casual chat, contribute with information, etc, provide info in one quick chat, DO NOT start multiple chats on website and waste hours chatting, you can contact me via other app (Facebook or Skype) where I answer when I have time, without calling me at computer if I am elsewhere.
