History & why I am selling
Between 2008 and 2011 HDB offered one PDF brochure for each town, plus individual files. Since 2012 HDB offer only individual individual flat plans in PDF (dimensions and unit number indicated in file name), whole block plans in PDF (no dimensions), site plans in JPG, etc. Consequently it takes 15-20 hours for me to download all files).
HDB sell floor plans for $5 per floorplan, which is apparently the worker fee to find the right floor plan and email to you, and a fee to prevent too many requests, rather the cost of floor plan itself, and you are free to redistribute floor plans, many people post them on forums asking for reno ideas, where anyone can download them freely.
So, I decided to sell my collection of BTO and SBF brochures. Why would you pay $5 for one floorplan when you can pay $40 for hundreds of floor plans? Don’t miss such great offer!
Some people may say that is a copyright issue to sell HDB floor plans for money. I would have offered them for free download if I wasn’t spending 10-15 hours to navigate from block to block and download each PDF file. Please consider the payment as a fee for my effort, plus a form of donation for maintaining the website as whole, rather than payment for floor plans. No copyright intended for HDB floor plans. Also I am NOT intending to make high profits by selling HDB property.
Note: this is NOT a complete collection of all HDB flats ever built, it contains ONLY flats offered for sale at Sale of Balance Flats, including many identical / duplicate floor plans.
March 2012 SBF have over 1600 files of which about 1000 are individual unit floor plans with dimensions (most useful). Newer SBF contains mostly unsold flats from BTO project thus most files are block floor plans without dimensions. Due to this reason, the benefits became too low for the effort necessary to download each file.
Also on 30 November 2016 HDB requested me to CEASE & DESIST selling and/or distributing floor plans on my website www.teoalida.com. Their email did not clearly indicated which page did breach their terms of services (selling SBF floor plans, BTO brochures page (free download) or HDB Floor plans page (~90 most popular floor plans for free download). I replied that I deleted SBF floor plans and BTO brochures pages, and asked HBD permission to keep brochures for free download, HDB replied me on 21 March 2017 that are unable to give me permission because people interested can obtain info directly from HDB (how?), and they noted that I already deleted BTO brochures and SBF floor plans pages, and no further action is necessary.
This made me spammed by website visitors asking me to send them brochure of a particular BTO. Since HDB did not commented anything against floor plans offered for free in HDB Floor Plans page, I guess that they were only against selling brochures. I re-published BTO brochures for free download, while SBF brochures & floor plans I hide on this password-protected page.
Number of people purchasing such collection of floor plans was too low already, it became even lower since HDB no longer allow me to sell them, consequently does not worth effort to continue collecting floor plans, May 2016 is the LAST SBF I downloaded floor plans from.
