Looking for a database of mobile phones specifications in Excel format to create a website, use in a GSM shop or anything similar?

I started this database in August 2016 by making a script to extract data from www.gsmarena.com. Initial release had 8191 phone models, and grew to 9000 in February 2018, 10000 in January 2020, 11000 in August 2021, 12000 in January 2023. Expect reaching 13000 milestone in mid-2024.

I publish monthly updates (around 1st day of month). For extra $100/year I offer weekly updates (CSV only, full specs) since 2019 when a customer asked me if I can update weekly for extra $, and add number of hits and likes so he can track phones popularity every week. We agreed to provide updates every Wednesday.

You receive an email with download link valid 1 year, every time an update is available you will be notified with similar email. Starting from second year you can buy another year of updates at 50% discount.

Don’t forget to check other databases made by me (100+ databases), including laptop and desktop computers, digital cameras, TVs and other electronics. Feel free to suggest websites where I can extract data and create new databases!

Mobile phone database coverage

The mobile phone specification database include classic cell phones and smartphones, tablets and smartwatches, from most popular phone brands in western world. There may be missing brands especially from China which have a lot of brands totally unknown outside their domestic market.

Earliest phones included are Ericsson models launched in 1994, but I guess that some early phone models are missing, as number of gadgets launched per year is significant only after 2003.

Latest updates

12607 phone models – 3 October 2023

    1. For some reasons, I need to compare every smartphone’s dimensions one by one. About a month overwhelmed by the endless number of smartphones, I met this website. No reason not to buy from it.

Actually, GSMarena.com is perfect reference that this data is of high quality because I compared almost every smartphone related website and found this is the best. The problem was I had to search for each models. Teoalida solved the problem by creating this amazing database. Again, thanks for this amazing service.

I was thinking what options would be the best for me because I needed only just a few columns with tight budget.
And there, Teoalida helped me make a clear decision comparing the real benefit I can get by each options.
I didn’t need to hesitate and just purchase for the full option. The purchase procedure can never be easier than this as well. Just click some buttons, pay and get download button. Very easy and reliable.

    1. There are many FREE convertors available, just google “convert CSV to JSON” but based on what we talked via live chat, you need a differently formatted JSON and in this case my programmer partner can make a custom convertor for $50.

  1. I don’t understand why do you said that NEED phones database and gone away without purchasing….

  2. Hi Teoalida, very impressive data collection! I’m interested in the mobile phones data for academic research. I was wondering a couple of things:

    1) do you know if there is any data available on HOW MANY UNITS were sold for each mobile phone model? Perhaps this can be counted based on how many times Android or other OS was installed, but at the model-level (not brand-level)

    2) Do you know anyone who compiles similar specifications data for semiconductor chips (non-mobile too)? In your mobile database, you do list the specific chips AND specifications for the chipset (which is helpful to me too!), but you don’t seem to have that information for the memory chips.

    3) Finally, I noticed that for your free sample for mobile, Ericsson was lacking information on its “platform.” Is this because the phones are from the 1990s and so info is not available? And are the “platform” fields mostly filled for phone models from the 2000s and on?

My friends may be interested in your auto data too! (I don’t study autos).

  3. Why did you started conversation if you say “not interested” ??

(1:46:48 PM) Teoalida: I think so, many use already
(1:46:59 PM) Teoalida: GSM Arena TOS isn’t so strict like others
(1:47:35 PM) Visitor 63028039: Have taken permssion from GSMArena.com
(1:47:55 PM) Visitor 63028039: have you taken permissio from the gsmarena.com?
(1:48:06 PM) Teoalida: I did asked them if scraping is OK, they never replied me
(1:48:37 PM) Teoalida: and someone advised me that is better to NOT contact and mention scraping, otherwise they may keep an eye on me to see if I am scraping or not
(1:49:24 PM) Teoalida: I also told to my customers who were concerned about legality, contact GSM Arena and ask if they can scrap data from it and post on their website… they also didn’t got any reply from GSM Arena, so we can guess that they don’t care?
(1:50:49 PM) Visitor 63028039: i am not interested. bye
