Contact me for a quote if you want to buy custom selection of columns, makes, years, or body type. Custom subsets won’t let you download updates unless you ask me to send you updates, but are good for one-time use, for example to decide what used car to buy, or academic project.
Electric/hybrid subset I added in 2019 once few customers contacted me saying asking for subset because their business do not deal with internal combustion engines, but this seems to cause confusion now, some people thinks that first 6 packages are only for gasoline cars and contact me to ask if should buy 2 separate databases to get all cars. WRONG, original 6 packages contain ALL cars including electric ones.
American car database coverage
Year-Make-Model-Trim-Specs is the best car database for people angry when a popular API closed in 2018 or tired of CarQueryAPI’s missing cars, I sourced most fields from most famous American car website, added 4 extra fields by myself, did few improvements in model hierarchy and created an Excel database with completeness and accuracy having no equivalent on internet. Full changelog.
Complete for all cars, trucks, SUVs and minivans sold in United States from Model Year 1990 to present. Canada-specific cars are NOT included in this database because it focus on US (Canadian cars are included in Year-Make-Model based on Wikipedia). If you are not from USA and want to use this database in another country, see list of models to determine.
They apparently changed source of data from MY 2001 onward. Specifications are consistent before and after but certain info is available starting from MY 2001 and hierarchy is different, for example Mercedes C43 AMG was listed as separate model until MY 2000 and as trim under C-Class for MY 2001. I manually improved hierarchy to fix these issues. European exotic manufacturers are missing in 1990-2000.
Cars are sorted by make and model alphabetically, by year new to old, then by trim from low to high. Feel free to re-sort models or years, avoid re-sorting trims when importing in your application.
Looking for pre-1990 cars? You can use Year-Make-Model (1945-present, no trims or specs). However, I am interested to make a specs database with older cars, for my personal research and to sell Excel to businesses dealing with older cars. Show me a website with longer historical coverage, that include at least car engine size, power and dimensions, and I may create a new database for you!

What was your Google search? I am #1 for searches like “Car database Europe” or “Excel car database“. I was #1 for a lot more keywords but since 1 month ago my website is under a penalty from Google. I am 100% sure that sooner or later penalty will be removed and rankings restored.
Please add weights to car dimension database
You would be the first one interested in dimensions and weights but nothing else.
I CAN add weights range as I did for European database. Would be this OK for you? Car weight vary depending by engine, transmission, drivetrain, if you want weights for individual versions you may buy the detailed BIG database.
Yes, like you did for the European database would be fine. I don’t need exact for every option, just a roundabout figure. Also, could you make it for MySQL as well?
When do you need the database ready? I am busy in multiple projects so can’t work full-time to cars, but I hope to finish it this month, and your weight request will take few additional days of full-time work.
If I make it MySQL then how I can manage and update it? I make it XLS and if you want, I export it as CSV, import in phpMyAdmin, export as SQL, send it and you tell me if it works well… never did this before.

The data should contain automakers, number of cars produced or imported per year from 2000-2014 (actual volumes) including tire sizes and speeds.
2015-2019 forecasts.

The above North American databases do not have tires at all.
Meanwhile I have tires in the European database, that is NOT SIMILAR with above North American databases but it is slightly more suited for you, I can expand it by adding cars produced in Latin America, but I will not able to provide accuracy for cars imported in Latin America.
ALSO I will be never able to get data about number of cars produced, even less number of cars sold in your particular country, even less the forecasts.
Does your data have jeeps and harleys?
Jeep is in database, Harley-Davidson don’t produce cars.

Thanks for providing this service. It’s been more reliable than the last database that I tried.
I did want to comment on one little detail I found. The model column in the spreadsheet is configured to be a “General” format. Because of that, the cells are supposed to self-discover what kind of data is inside each one. It turns out that this behavior interferes with a SQL Server import. Basically, any field with a dash and a number such as “CX-5” will blank itself out during import into my SQL database. The fix I found is to change that whole column to a “Text” field in Excel prior to import.
I was wondering if in future updates you could actually set that column as a Text field? It might save others the confusion in the future.

I done over 50 sales last year and you’re the first person who report this problem. OK, I can change it to text when releasing next update. But how is possible that cells like CX-5 to blank itself? BTW, did you received today update?
I checked your website and does not seems to use my database, it have lots of wrong model names especially in BMW and Mercedes, what happened?
I’m not really sure why it happened but the import feature in SQL Server Management Studio seems to be picky. I imagine most of your customers are using free and open source databases and probably aren’t running into the same problem.
As for my website, a lot of the cars came from my previous subscription to a different service, which clearly had some problems with it. I’ve tried to merge the data so as not to leave broken links behind but I’m still working on it.
Thanks for reminding me about the weird BMW and Mercedes models. I can go ahead and delete those.

Question: Do you have any data for motorcycles or boats?
I added 27 and 83 columns packages in May 2016. The 51 column package remained for sales by end of year without getting any more sales because people tend to choose biggest package unless they need just Basic specs, this is why I deleted it. I can sell you a custom package with extra columns removed but I suggest to buy a standard package if you want to be notified automatically about updates.
I created database for motorcycles too, see menu. For boats tell me a website to scrap data from and I will create a new database.
I first bought the carquery database/API… My developer could not get it to work to show US makes only… I emailed them several times and the never replied to me… I bought the same product from Teoalida and it works great, and when we had a question he responded to us very promptly…
